I'm so excited about sharing these DIY hydrangeas with you! I have wanted to create a paper hydrangea for years, but kept stumbling over the execution since it is more detailed then some of my single flower buds.

Once I found a method that I thought many could master, I went to work making the templates and yes, video tutorial!

Here are supplies you will want/need to make these clusters of paper pretties.
  • card stock
  • glue gun and sticks
  • templates from my shop
  • rhinestones
  • pigment ink
  • scissors
  • 22 gauge wire
  • corsage tape
  • as always practice and patience!

2 different size templates are provided.

This will be your leaf base that will help you hold the stem in place.

You will need 3 petal layers per bud and 8-12 buds per cluster depending on your preference to over all size.

You will build 3 layers for 1 bud, alternating petals.

You will stem each bud individually using 22 gauge wire. This is a different size then I use in my 'How to stem a paper flower tutorial'

Once you have build all the buds you desire then you're gonna wrap the whole bunch in corsage tape.
