5 Positive Behavior Lessons for Kids

Playroom Sign Printables

Daily positive behavior reminders for kids (ahem..and adults)

I don't know about your kids but mine are extremely energetic, will out whine your sanity in about 2 minutes, and scream anytime one takes something from the other.
Yes, I know this is Motherhood but seriously guys my kids will do this every 10 minutes most days!
In fact as I'm typing this and listening to the 4th meltdown of the morning start right now.

Pardon me for a minute....
Mom- "Please share with your sister."
"Please don't hit"
"Say sorry, say thank you"
Toddlers- Walks away, whines, doesn't listen.
Repeat 3x
(loose your cool on time number 3)

My girl, Ella seems to be going through a very whiny and stubborn stage.
And Wyatt seems to be pushing her buttons without even trying sometimes. Therefore these days, my barely 3 year old and almost 2 year old are testing my patience in knew ways.

Especially when I'm just plain tired from the moment my feet hit the ground in the morning.

I wanted to create some playroom signs with positive reminders and easy bible verses to start teaching the kids.
And well, myself.
Yes I already have learned these things and verses, but learning and training to continually practice are two different things.

So here are the top 5 things I will try to teach my kids everyday when attitudes arise, and remind myself when Mommy's temper flares.

1. Love each other

Above all, we love. Honestly we could stop here because if we really love the correct way you will see all these other behavior traits will fall right in line with love.
  • Be paitent
  • Be humble
  • Be kind
  • Forgive others
See 1 Corinthians 13:4

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres."

2. Obey Mommy and Daddy

  • Listen the first time
See Ephesians 6:1 "Children obey your parents in the Lord."

3. Be helpful

  • Help others
  • Clean up your toys
  • Remember the Fruits of the Spirit
See Galatians 5:22
" But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.."

4. Tell the Truth

See Proverbs 12:17 "He who speaks the truth tells what is right. But a false witness, deceit."

5. Have a good attitude

  • Say please and thank you
  • Share with others
See Psalms 118:24
"This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it."

There you have it. Great lessons for kids and daily reminders for me, that if I'm totally honest, I'm not a fan of when I'm tired, grumpy or upset.
But it's important to remember our kids will learn the most by our actions not just words.
Try not to beat yourself up when you fail. (I know I do)
I probably fail at least 1-2x a day. (and probably even more on really bad days)
But you can still keep going with the right things and when you mess up that's still an opportunity to teach kids forgiveness and apologizes.
Being a imperfect parent that still strives for perfection with God's help is the best kind of parent because it's real.

  1. This is the story of my life except mine are 15, 8, and 9 months Lol. I love how you incorporated the bible into it. The signs are so cute and easy to read for the little ones.
