Helpful tips for fellow working artists promoting on Pinterest

I recently learned 2 very helpful tips when it comes to promoting on Pinterest and can tell you they have worked first hand for me in a very short period of time; now I want to share them with you.

 1) Use BIG images! It's so obvious and yet I didn't really notice until someone pointed out that there is no size limits on photos on Pinterest. So go BIG!

I like to use Picmonkey.com to build my collages.

 2) Ask a question in the description. For example if I'm pinning this image of my paper roses I might ask something like, Wouldn't these easy DIY paper roses look beautiful at your wedding reception?

Why does this work? Because not only is a question going to catch the eye of the person scrolling easier, but it also forces them to answer the question mentally; thus leading to a repin or click to your site.

Bonus tip- I recently opened a business Pinterest account and it is definitely worth it. You can convert an existing account if you wish but I like to keep mine separate to not bore my family and friends on my personal page with my promoted pins. (Promotion is a great tool to use on the business accounts too!)

So that's it in a nut shell, give it a try for yourself and tell me how it works out for you!
