Paper Poinsettia Lighted Christmas Garland

Lighted Christmas Garland. DIY Paper Poinsettias

Lighted Christmas Poinsettia Garland. DIY Christmas Decor Ideas. Paper Poinsettias.

We are moving on to week two with our DIY Christmas Decor Ideas!
Last week I showed you how to deck out your paper flowers or any old ornament or object in gold spray paint to give it new life. If you missed it check it out here, Golden Christmas Inspirations.

This week I'm sharing a lighted paper poinsettia garland. These are great for mantels or Christmas trees!

Supplies you will need:
White Christmas lights
Red & gold paper (65 lb weighted)
(you get the free version with the hold punched in the middle.
If you want the whole poinsettia template then click here. You can use the SVG with a cutting machine or use the outline PDF to cut by hand.)
Glue gun

The version I'm showing here are the same templates as the free ones except I shot this tutorial without the intention of using it with the lights so the only difference is the hole is the center.

There is also a full video tutorial for building the original poinsettia below.
If you are making the garland just glue around the hole and follow the same steps.

You will need 3 large petal cuts and 2 small as shown

Use your rolling tool to create veins on all the petals.

Then flip them over and roll the center to make the petals stand up.

Layer the first 3 pieces on top each other alternating petals.

Add to the two smaller petal cuts.

If you are not doing the lighted garland then you can add some pearls as center accents.

If you are doing the lite garland then simply push the flower over the light threw the circle.

Lay it on your mantel, or wrap around your Christmas tree or a wreath!

Do you have any other ideas about how to use this garland? Share with me in the comments!

My toe is verging on the line of becoming a lazy blogger these past couple weeks.
Okay, lazy isn't really the correct word because it would imply me sitting at home watching Netflix and eating cookies out of the box (my current idea of lazy).

What it really means is my mind is overflowing with so many creative Christmas ideas that I'm working on a thousand projects at once and can't squeeze out my normal blogging hours!

Anyways here is what you can expect to see over the next few weeks throughout the holidays.
I am working on my largest decor project yet and will be sharing several Christmas tutorials from it.

I'll be sharing poinsettia tutorials, 3D trophy deer head, Christmas garland decor, DIY Christmas ornaments and so much more!

And ahem..yes they will be revolving around paper. I know I may need therapy, but I love paper anything!

What you won't see is your weekly Friday freebie. Don't worry! You will still get freebies packed into the holiday posts and tutorials almost every week.
I'll be resume my bi-weekly posts after January rolls over.

Okay, so today I'm going to give you a tip on how to add extra pizzazz to paper flowers or really any item in your Christmas closet that needs a fresh look and you just don't have the heart to throw out.

Gold is just as much a primary Christmas color as red and green. We can't get by without it! It can add some much needed elegance to pretty much anything.

So did you know its super easy to add some gold metallic spray paint to any paper flower?!

Here is a quick video on how to accomplish Sybelle style rose with applying gold paint successfully.
